"Best self-produced songwriter from down under you probably have never heard of (but now you have)" – Music Director, KZMU, Utah, 2019.
Robert Reid has had a lifelong love of music, especially songs with a strong beat, a haunting melody, and words that say something. His music crosses boundaries, through rock, pop and spoken word, acoustic or electric, occasionally flavoured with folk or punk, jazz or flamenco. The lyrics are prominent, ranging from darkly satirical to more gently hopeful.
Robert worked for over 20 years as an advocacy worker, setting up outreach services for people living on the edge of homelessness, and his songs are informed by this work as well as personal experience. Since 2005 he has released six albums which have received worldwide airplay on college, community and internet radio.
All music has been recorded at Audrey Studios, Melbourne, produced with Craig Pilkington, and supported by a variety of excellent musicians.
